Athletics West Community Workshops will service committee members from Junior Centres and Senior Clubs. Delivered by Athletics West staff & stakeholders, attendees will leave with a comprehensive understanding of their affiliation requirements, marketing strategies and the revised pathway for athletes, volunteers and officials. The workshop series will host Working With Children guest speakers to refresh child safety practices and organisational obligations.

Workshops:

Intro to Marketing: Welcome to the wonderful world of marketing and social media. Athletics West will be hosting a 45-minute introductory marketing workshop to help you promote your club over the coming season. Whether it’s promoting your next event, rallying the troops for Saturday, or helping to create a fun club culture, a solid understanding of marketing is key. The workshop will break down marketing platforms, how to write and implement a marketing plan, and discuss ways for Athletics West to support your marketing endeavours.

Governance and Compliance: Being an administrator of a Club/Centre can be hard and overwhelming between your legislative requirements as an organisation and meeting the needs of your community. To help, Athletics West have developed the Go for 2&5 Centre Toolkit, to support affiliates with their governance requirements. The Centre Toolkit is a handy, resource hub that outlines your minimum requirements and best practices in the form of adoptable policies and resources readily available for Clubs and Centres to implement. In this workshop, Athletics West will speak through each stage of the Toolkit and introduce you to SportAus' Game Plan.

Platforms & Registration: Athletics West currently operates across two platforms (RevolutioniseSPORT- Senior and Timing Solutions- Junior). This collaborative workshop will aim to identify key functions required as an administrator and explore the opportunities to better serve the community. Achieving the long term goal of one registration platform and one member ID for life, identified through the Membership Model Review, this workshop will be the first step in the collective journey. 

Programs & Events: The 2021/22 Summer Season Powered by Go For 2&5 is set to host an exciting range of new events, programs and formats for members from both the Little Athletics and Senior Programs. In this workshop, we will provide an overview of the State event Calendar for the 2021/22 Season, new programs available to pilot and look forward to gaining input and feedback from our Club and Centre representatives.

Covid Restrictions: Please ensure the appropriate administrators are attending the relevant workshops. Where possible, committees should send no more than 3 members total (1 member per workshop), to support with adhering to government restrictions. Athletics West reserves the right to implement capacity limits under changes in government advice and restriction requirements. This will be communicated if required.
