Athletics West are hosting a Learn to RaceRun Program for Little Athletes.
Places are limited to 10 participants.
This 4 week program will provide an opportunity for participants to learn how to RaceRun with support from Community Coaches.
Participation in the 4 week program cost $60 total, subject to confirmation of your registration and Frame availability.
RaceRunning is an innovative sport for people with a physical disability who have impaired balance & are not able to functionally run. A RaceRunner trike is a custom built three-wheeled frame where the runner is fully supported by a saddle and leans against a chest support, propelling themselves forward by the feet (one or both), while using the hands and/or arms to steer.
This program is available for any child aged 3 and above and suitable for Cerebral palsy GMFCS levels II-IV, or any disability where children need assistance to walk or run.
If your child already has a Race Runner, we encourage use of their own.
Participation in this program, requires a fitted frame. Registration will not guarantee that we can fit an appropriate frame, however we do promise to work with our partners to support you as best we can.
If your child will require access to a racerunner, through one of our partners, please complete the measurement requirements upon registration. A guide for frame sizes can be found here.
Participants are to bring their own helmet for Health & Safety precautions (traditional bike helmets are suitable).
Parent involvement and support in the program is encouraged.
This opportunity has been made available, thanks to Athletics West, Now I Can Run, Deejay Medical, Goodlife Medical & Rebound WA.
