Level 1 Recreational Running Coach
The Level 1 Recreational Run Leader course introduces how to lead a recreational run group under the guidance of a level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running Coach or higher.
What is the course content?
The course will introduce the fundamental technique of running and include;
· Coaching to enhance the learning of beginners
· Long term runner participation
· The fundamental skills of coaching
· Pre-exercise screening
· Warm up and Cool Down
· Communication
· Session Planning
Who is this course for?
Anyone looking to take their first steps on to the coaching ladder or lead a social running group.
Individuals could include, athletes wanting a greater understanding of their own training, parents wanting to help out at their child’s club, existing coaches looking to move into a new area, teachers or fitness professionals as continued development.
What is involved?
The course consistes of both practical and theory based learning, including some self study online modules.
Are there any prerequisites?
No. You do not need to have completed any other qualification to be eligible to register for this course.
Pre-course Study
Prior to the first session all coaches must complete the Community Coaching General Principles and Child Protection modules online. This information will be provided upon registration.
Course Length
The course will be 7 hours from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Course Cost
$230 payable upon registration, this is inclusive of all booking fees etc.
Progression
After completion of the Level 1 Recreational Run Leader course, leaders will be eligible to progress to Level 2 Recreational Running Coach and/or Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach.
