ENTRY & ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to Senior club members and Little Athletics members. Participants must be 14 years or older by the 31st of December 2024 to compete. 

Late entries close 12:00pm Friday 2 February 2024. Late entries will be accepted upon avaliability. 

UNIFORMS / FOOTWEAR / BIBS

Athletes are to wear their Club/Independent uniform with their 2023/24 season bib number. 

Athletics West will be enforcing the recent World Athletics Shoe Ruling. Click here for the current list of shoes deemed approved by World Athletics. Please complete the Shoe delcaration found below prior to the competition.

NATIONAL PROGRESSION

This event is the qualification event for the Australian Track & Field Championships, which take place in Adelaide from 11-19 April 2024. The top 3 athletes in Under 15/16/17/18 age groups per event will qualify for the WA State Team (note, athletes must be born 2010 or earlier to compete in 3000m at Australian Championships). Additionally, athletes who do not finish top 3, can qualify by entry standard for the Australian Championships. Entry standards have been released by Athletics Australia and further information will be provided in the Selection Criteria. Registrations for the WA State Team will open in February and close shortly after the State Championships (22-25 February 2024).

Open athletes wishing to contest Australian Open 3000m Championships (within Sydney Track Classic on March 24) will be required to meet entry standard and nominate through 2024 Chemist Warehouse Sydney Track Classic nomination portal. Nomination to this event does not guarantee a spot on the startlist, Athletics Australia will confirm entries once nominations close.
