EVENT PERMIT LEVEL: WORLD RANKING (Learn more) 

The 5,000m State Championships is open to all members affiliated through a senior Club or registered as an Athletics West independent member. If you have not currently registered for the 2024-25 Season, please visit our Membership page.

ENTRY & ELIGIBILITY

Entries open Thursday 26th November 2024 and close 11:59pm Wednesday 15th January 2025. Late entries will be accepted upon avaliability. 

There is no qualification criteria for members to enter this event.

The WA State 5,000m Championships is open to all members who are born in the year of 2010 or earlier and are affiliated through a senior Club or registered as an Athletics West independent member. Age group calculation is taken from the 31st of December 2025.

UNIFORMS / FOOTWEAR / BIBS

Athletes are to wear their Club/Independent uniform with their 2024/25 season bib number. 

Athletics West will be enforcing the recent World Athletics Shoe Ruling. Click here for the current list of shoes deemed approved by World Athletics. Please complete the Shoe delcaration found below prior to the competition.

PRIZE MONEY 

In addition to medal presentations, the fastest male and female over 5000m will be awarded with prize money. Please note this applies to the entire night, therefore athletes not competing in the Championship race are still eligible to win the prize money. 

OFFICIALS  VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY REQUIRED

All of our officials are volunteers who generously donate their time to delivering athletics competitions for WA athletes. We will require additional support so if you are able to help, please let the site official know prior to the commencement of the event. Please email admin@athleticswest.com.au and let us know.
