The WA State 3,000m Championships is open to all members affiliated through a Senior or Little Athletics Club or registered as an Athletics West independent member. If you have not currently registered for the 2024-25 Season, please visit our Membership page.
REGISTRATION
Registrations close midnight Wednesday 5 February 2025.
Late entries are taken solely on the availability of a vacant position. There are no guarantees for late entrants. The number of available positions will be determined at the complete discretion of Athletics West, in line with timetabling considerations and lane availability.

ENTRY & ELIGIBILITY
The WA State 3,000m Championships is open to all members who are born in the year of 2011 or earlier and are affiliated through a Senior or Little Athletics Club or registered as an Athletics West independent member.

UNIFORMS / FOOTWEAR / BIBS
Athletes are to wear their Club/Independent uniform with their 2024/25 season bib number.
Athletics West will be enforcing the recent World Athletics Shoe Ruling. Click here for the current list of shoes deemed approved by World Athletics. Please complete the Shoe delcaration found below prior to the competition.
In line with the new World Athletics Rule Change around Shoe Compliance, Athletics West will be enforcing and conducting the event under World Athletics rules. All Open and Under 20 athletes will be required to complete the online Shoe Declaration Form prior to competing. The link to this form will also be in the registration confirmation email.
NATIONAL PROGRESSION
This event is the qualification event for the Australian Track & Field Championships, which take place in Western Australia from 4-13 April 2025. The top 3 athletes in each age group per event will qualify for the WA State Team. Additionally, athletes who do not finish top 3, can qualify by entry standard for the Australian Championships. Entry standards have been released by Athletics Australia and further information will be provided in the Selection Criteria.
MEDAL PRESENTATIONS
After the results have been verified, medal presentations will be made as soon as possible after the event. Each athlete must wear their approved Centre (Little Athletics) or Club or Independent (Senior Athletics) uniform for the presentation ceremony. Medals will be awarded to athletes that place first, second and third.
