Event information
Registrations for this event are closed.
Registrations are open for participants to take part in an introductory program to Frame Running being held at WA Athletics Stadium with support from Rebound WA.
Frame Running is an innovative sport and recreational activity for people with a physical disability who have impaired balance and who are not able to functionally run. A Frame Runner trike is a custom built three-wheeled frame where the runner is fully supported by a saddle and leans against a chest support, propelling themselves forward by the feet (one or both), while using the hands and/or arms to steer.
This program will provide a unique opportunity for participants to get sized up for a running frame, learn how to run using the Frame, and take part in activities all in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions will be delivered by experienced physiotherapists and accredited Athletics Coaches. Parent involvement and support in the program is encouraged.
This program is available for any person aged 8** and above and suitable for
- Cerebral palsy GMFCS levels II-IV, or
- any disability where particpant needs assistance to walk or run.
Frame Running Equipment
- Participants are to bring their own helmet for Health & Safety precautions (traditional bike helmets are suitable).
- Participation in this program requires a fitted frame. Registration will not guarantee that we can fit an appropriate frame, however we do promise to work with our partners to support you as best we can. If your child already has a running frame, we encourage use of their own.
- If your child will require access to a running Frame through one of our partners, please complete the measurement requirements upon registration. A guide for frame sizes can be found here.
**Please contact Noula or Rebound WA (08) 6143 5800 for alternate Frame Running opportunities for children younger than 8 years of age.
