Registrations are open for participants to take part in an introductory program to Wheelchair Racing being held at WA Athletics Stadium.  

Wheelchair Racing

Come along and learn how to push a racing wheelchair. Learn the skills and technique to master the sport and reach your goals.

Wheelchair racing is suitable for athletes with a wide range of impairments including but not limited to those with a spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, spina bifida or an amputation.

This series will provide a unique opportunity for participants to try Wheelchair Racing and take part in activities all in a fun, supportive environment. Sessions will be delivered by an experienced and accredited Wheelchair Racing Coach. Parent involvement and support in the program is encouraged.

Wheelchair Equipment

·       Participants are to bring their own helmet for Health & Safety precautions (traditional bike helmets are suitable)

·       We have limited chairs and equipment to suit children from 6 years, through to adults.

Program outline – Four sessions

Dates: Monday 24 February to 24 March 2025 (excluding Public Holiday on Monday 3 March). 

Time:  6.00pm to 7.00pm

Location: WA Athletics Stadium, Mt Claremont

Cost: $60 per participant for four sessions plus participants will be required to pay gate entry fee per session for WA Athletics Stadium (Cost of entry into the stadium is $8.60 for an adult or $4.30 for a senior & student concession (Visitor Information)
