Becoming an Accredited Athletics Coach is your first step to developing the skills and confidence required to assist your athletes to be their best. All of our courses are engaging, educational, and entertaining and are designed to give you a practical understanding of coaching Athletics at all levels of the sport. Benefits
Coaching accreditation is the recognition of your qualifications and compliance with the sport's governing body, code of conduct, and member protection policies.
All coaches who successfully complete an accredited Level 1 Community Athletics Coach or Recreational Run Leader course receive membership with Athletics Australia and their state association. Current members with an active coaching accreditation receive the following benefits:
- Accreditation with Sport Australia through the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme;
- Registration as a coach with your state or territory Athletics Member Association;
- Eligibility to attend higher level Accredited Coach Education Courses;
- Eligibility to attend Professional Development seminars;
- Eligibility to be endorsed to deliver Athletics as part of the Sporting Schools initiative;
- Public Liability insurance up to $30,000,000 for any one occurrence;
- Products Liability insurance up to $30,000,000 for any one insurance period;
- Professional Indemnity insurance up to $10,000,000 for any one period of insurance;
- Personal Injury insurance (further information here) ;
- A Coaching Accreditation Card mailed to you;
- Access to coaching resources and technical support from Athletics Australia;
- An individual editable entry on Athletics Australia’s searchable iCoach database, including the ability to link your personal website or preferred social media page;
- Free entry to the Australian Athletics Championships;
- Eligibility to be selected as a coach on an Australian national team or on a member association representative team;
- Eligibility to coach in Primary schools as part of the Sporting Schools initiative.
