2019 Go for 2&5 WA All Schools Championships

The 2019 Go for 2&5 WA All Schools Championships proved to be a successful weekend, with over 500 athletes competing over the three days. The Championships were the selection trials for the 2019 Australian All Schools Championships, which will be held from 6-8th December in Perth, giving our WA athletes a homeground advantage. The Australian All Schools Championships will see school-aged athletes from around the country compete for title of the school-aged champion.

Standout performances over the 2019 Go for 2&5 WA All Schools Championships weekend were;

Cory Crombie (F57) broke three Under 18 National records over the weekend in the Discus Seated, Shot Put Seated and Javelin Seated, throwing 12.06m, 4.87m and 12.18m respectively.

Jackson Hamilton (F12) broke his own National record in the Under 18 Boy’s Shot Put, throwing an impressive 15.53m.

Etienne Rousseau had a great campaign, winning the Under 18 Boy’s Shot Put, Hammer Throw and Discus, throwing 16.70m, 40.84m and 56.95m respectively.

On the track, Kayla van der Linden and Thomas Cross both won three gold medals in the 400m, 800m and 1500m.

Sasha Zhoya stormed home in the Under 18 Boys 100m and 200m winning in a time of 10.58 and 21.23 respectively. 

In the Under 14 Girl’s 200m Sienna Fillis ran an impressive race, winning in a time of 25.05, claiming the WA All Comers Record, narrowly missing the WA State Record (25.04). Sienna also placed second in the Under 14 Girl’s 100m.

In the Under 18 Girl’s 400m, Tori Moss stormed home to claim the gold medal in a time of 56.99.
