2024 NORTH WEST CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT SHIRT | LIVE NOW

The 2024 North West Championship Event Shirt is now live and available for purchase via our online store!

Athletics West are proud to acknowledge the indigenous culture in the Pilbara region and were honored to collaborate with Aboriginal Artist, Natasha Leslie to incorporate an indigenous design on this years event shirt.

A proud Gummipinhal woman of the Worimi People and a sports person finalist in the 2024 NAIDOC Awards, Leslie wanted the shirt to tell a cultural story with relation to the North West Championships set for Karratha next week.

The shirts design features meeting circles with people sitting around them, which represent the towns that participated in the championships last year. The line connecting the meeting circles is a journey line that connects the towns together, with the biggest meeting circle representing the host town, Karratha. Karratha’s meeting circle shows arrows in shape of the NW compass, which also represent javelin, with the bush food next to the circles representing shot put and discus. Kangaroo tracks along the journey line also represent the track events for the championships.

Please choose sizes carefully as all purchases are final and we cannot swap garments.

The shirts will be available for collection at the championship event.
