Registrations for the 2024 WA Little Athletics Zones Championships are now open.

The WA Little Athletics Zones Championships will be held across three locations on the 17 & 18 February 2024 with all Little Athletics Members aged from Under 7 to Under 15 able to register to participate.

ZONE ALLOCATION

ZONE 1 (NORTH)

Host: Joondalup Little Athletics Centre

Location: HBF Arena, Kennedya Dr, Joondalup WA 6027

Centres: Joondalup, Kingsway, Swan Valley, Hammersley, UWA, Ridgewood

ZONE 2 (EAST)

Host: Belmont Little Athletics Centre

Location: Gerry Archer Athletics Track, Abernethy Road, Cloverdale WA 6105

Centres: Eastern Hills, Inglewood, Melville, Bayswater, Southern Districts, Belmont

ZONE 3 (SOUTH)

Host: Dale Little Athletics Centre

Location: Ironcap Pl, Armadale WA 6112

Centres: Baldivis, Dale, Cockburn, Peel Districts, Kwinana, Rockingham, Gosnells

HOW TO REGISTER

The Zone Championships has no qualification requirement and is open to all Little Athletics members in the Under 7 (Born 2017) to Under 15 (Born 2009) age category.

Little Athletes can register via their Results HQ portal with all entries set to close at 11:59 pm on Monday 11 February. Please note there will be no late entries accepted.

REGISTER VIA RESULTS HQ

Medals will be awarded to Little Athletes in the Under 7 and Under 8 age categories, as they are unable to progress to the State Junior Track and Field Championships.

QUALIFYING FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Athletics West will host two Summer Season State Championships:

• State Track & Field Championships powered by Go For 2&5
  • Date: 22-25 February 2024
  • Location: WA Athletics Stadium
  • Entry: Entry is open to all Little Athletics and Strive members born in 2012 or earlier.
  • Qualification to enter State Championships: There is no qualification criteria for members to enter this event.
• State Junior Track & Field Championships powered by Go For 2&5
  • Date:  8-10 March 2024
  • Location: WA Athletics Stadium
  • Entry: Entry is open to all qualified Little Athletics members born 2011 – 2015 (Under 9 to Under 13).
  • Qualification to enter State Junior Championships: Athletes (able-bodied) must qualify to enter the WA State Junior Championships, through the below methods.

Metro Athletes

Under 9 to Under 13 Metro Little Athletics Members can qualify for the Junior State Championships via the following pathways:

• Achieving the entry standard at Little Athletics Centre or Zone Championships competition and/or
• Automatically qualify at the Zones Championships by achieving:
  • Top 3 placing in for Long Hurdles, 800m, 1500m, Walks, Discus, Javelin, High Jump
  • Top 4 placing for Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put
  • Top 5 placing for 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m & Short Hurdles

Country & North West Athletes

Under 9 to Under 13 Metro Little Athletics Members can qualify for the Junior State Championships via the following pathways:

• Achieving the entry standard at Little Athletics Centre or Zone Championships competition and/or
• Automatically qualify by placing in the top 2 at the 2024 WA Country Championships powered by Coles in Geraldton.
