Registrations for the 2025 Night of the Go For 2&5 are NOW OPEN!
The Night of the Go For 2&5 is a community event that celebrates athletics by bringing together athletes from different sports, recreational runners and individuals who simply wish to have a go at athletics.
Held on the evening of the 18th of January 2025 at the WA Athletics Stadium in Mount Claremont, athletes will have the opportunity to test their limits over 2,000m and 5,000m races with the opportunity to run on the athletics track at the WA Athletics Stadium and receive an official race time using the Hytek Photo Finish equipment.
Prize money will be up for grabs for the fastest time recorded for both male and female across ALL 5,000m races on the night.
We encourage participation from athletes of all sporting codes and abilities, with registration discounts offered to groups of six or more.
Not a runner? No worries! Spectators will be invited to line the inside of the track on the final straight to cheer the athletes on their endeavor to do their best. Spectator tickets are free however we encourage you to please register as a spectator for us to gauge numbers for vendors.
The Night of the Go For 2&5 event will wrap up with the 5,000m State Championship race where WA’s best distance runners will battle it out for the 2025 5,000m Championship title.
Athletics West are proud to deliver the 2025 Night of the Go For 2&5 in partnership with Healthway and their Go For 2&5 message, Kumon, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Keep on Running, and the Bibbulmun Fund powered by Fremantle Foundation.

The 5,000m State Championship event is open to all members affiliated through a senior Club or registered as an Athletics West independent member. If you have not currently registered for the 2024-25 Season and wish to participate in the Championship race, please visit our Membership page.
