6 WA Athletes at Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships

Six Western Australian Para athletes are set to represent Australia at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships from 7-15 November 2019.

Rhiannon Clarke (T38), coached by Braiden Clarke will compete in the Women’s 100m, 200m and 400m with her sights set on a podium finish, after winning the silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. At seventeen years old Rhiannon is juggling her Year 11 ATAR studies, in addition to her study, Rhiannon completes three training sessions and two strength sessions a week.

Ella Pardy (T38) coached by Danny Kevan, first started athletics at the age of  15,  with Kingsway Little Athletics Club. Ella is aiming to run personal bests and medal in the Women’s 100m and 200m at the Championships. Ella currently holds the Australian Record for the 100m and 200m with a time of 13.06 and 27.27 respectively.

Sarah Edmiston (F44) will be competing in the Women’s Discus and holds an impressive personal best of 38.98m. Sarah started Little Athletics when she was 7 years old and competed at Rockingham Little Athletics, until she was 14, before competing at ‘seniors.’ Coached by her husband, Paul Edmiston, Sarah looks forward to the opportunity to compete alongside fellow athletes in her classification. 

Robyn Lambrid (T34) will compete in the Women’s 100m at the Championships and looks forward to her first major competition wearing the green and gold. Coached by Blanche Herbert and going into the competition ranked third in the world, Robyn aims to finish her campaign on the podium.

Madison de Rozario (T53) based on the East Coast and coached by Louise Sauvage, will compete in the Women’s 800m, 1500m and 5000m at the Championships. Madison will be focused in winning the gold after winning two gold medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and recently achieving bronze in the Marathon event at the World Para Athletics Championships, held in April this year.

Also based on the East Coast, Chad Perris (T13) coached by Iryna Dvoskina, will compete in the 100m and 4x100m Relay. Chad will have his sights set on a medal, after he won a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, in an impressive time of 10.83.
