ATHLETICS WEST ANNOUNCE LITTLE ATHLETICS WA PROGRAM FOCUS SESSION

Athletics West is excited to announce the inaugural ‘Little Athletics WA Program Focus Session’ as part of its ongoing commitment to the delivery of grassroots athletics in Western Australia.

As part of the work set to get underway following the upcoming Special General Meeting, Athletics West will work with all affiliated Little Athletics WA Centres and One Clubs to review and develop recommendations for the ongoing delivery of grassroots athletics.

The session outcome will be to develop a list of recommendations on event specifications, age group alignment and the safeguarding of grassroots delivery at the Centre and Club level.

“We are committed to safeguarding and celebrating grassroots participation in WA. By bringing together our Centres and Clubs that deliver the Little Athletics WA program, we will ensure that those that deliver the program have a voice in the future direction of the program,” Athletics West CEO Vince Del Prete said.

“In collaboration with our members, we will grow and build a better Little Athletics WA program. By ensuring every Centre has the right equipment to encourage and champion grassroots participation, every West Aussie kid will get a chance to run, jump and throw.”

Building off the work undertaken by the NSW Athletics partnership, Little Athletics Centres and One Clubs will be able to provide feedback and recommendations to make sure the state continues to deliver a modified athletics experience that promotes participation for all. 

Further information about the Little Athletics WA Program Focus Session will be finalised following the upcoming Special General Meeting.
