2020 LAWA State Track & Field Championships

The LAWA Board made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 LAWA State Track & Field Championships, in light of the current situation and given the highly contagious nature of the Covid-19 virus. The health and well-being of the athletics community, including athletes, parents, family members, volunteers, officials and staff involved in our events remain our highest priority.

Refund of Entry Fees

Due to the cancellation of the 2020 LAWA State Track & Field Championships, Little Athletics WA in conjunction with Timing Solutions will be providing refunds to all registered athletes. All costs, excluding the 30-cent payment processing fee will be refunded into the account that you paid for the event with.

As you can imagine, with 1,500 athletes this process will take some time. Please allow up to 10 days for the refunded amount to return to your account.

If you paid directly to Little Athletics WA via credit card please email jake@walittleathletics.com.au with your banking details so we can organise a refund for you.

2020 State Track & Field Championships T-Shirts

Pre-ordered 2020 LAWA State Track & Field Championships t-shirts can be shipped to your home address for $10 for one shirt, or $12 for two or three shirts. Please CLICK HERE complete the request for shipping.

PLEASE NOTE: due to the risk a high volume of visitors would pose to our staff, there is currently NO pick-up option for the t-shirts. We anticipate we will be able to offer this in future, however given the current circumstances it is not available at this time.

2020 AUSTRALIAN LITTLE ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Board of Little Athletics Australia have advised that the 2020 Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC) has been cancelled due to the evolving situation of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This event will not take place in 2020. Any further decisions relating to future ALAC events will be made by Little Athletics Australia and we will provide updates once further information is available.

2020 LAWA Under 14 and Under 15 Singapore Tour

Please note the LAWA Under 14 and Under 15 Singapore Tour is currently being reviewed in conjunction with the event’s organisers and other leading authorities. We will provide further information once a decision has been made relating to this event.

2020 AUSTRALIAN TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Athletics Australia have taken the decision to cancel the 2020 Australian Junior (Under 14 – Under 18) Track & Field Championships, which will not be re-scheduled and have postponed the 2020 Australian Senior (Under 20, Open and Para) Track & Field Championships to a date or dates to be determined.

Future Dates

Given the rapidly changing situation with Covid-19, there is no further information regarding new dates for the postponed events or scheduled dates for 2021 events at this stage. In regard to rescheduling of flights and accommodation arrangements, Athletics in WA is unable to advise on this matter.

Athletics Australia is responsible for any decisions surrounding the Under 20 and Open events. Once further information in available regarding the rescheduled events, Athletics in WA will endeavour to support athletes with preparation competition opportunities where suitable. Athletics in WA will update members on developments in this area as soon as we receive them.

Refund of Team Levy and Event Entry Fee

Athletics in WA will be providing refunds of the team levy and event entry fees (minus a $5 processing fee) to ALL athletes. Due to the large number of refunds to be processed, we anticipate it will take between 5-10 business days for members to receive their refunds.

Under 20 and Open athletes will have the opportunity to enter through Athletics in WA once the new dates, location and other event details are established.

Spectator Ticket Sales

Athletics Australia have advised that details around refunds to all tickets that have been sold to the 2020 Australian Track & Field Championships will be made available soon. Please contact Athletics Australia directly should you have any queries relating to ticket sales.

Uniforms

Uniforms purchased through ID Athletic are non-refundable, in accordance with ID Athletics’ refund policy.

Qualification for Future Events

Selection criteria for the 2021 Australian Track & Field Championships will be released during the 2020-21 Season.

2020 Jandakot Airport Gallipoli Run

With the RSLWA cancelling the conduct of all ANZAC Day commemorations in Western Australia, Athletics in WA have made the decision to postpone the 2020 Jandakot Airport Gallipoli Run. Whilst we will not be scheduling a new date in the immediate future, given the rapidly changing environment, we are hopeful this may take place in November around Remembrance Day.

2020 Winter Series

The Winter Series (both Little Athletics and senior events) is under consideration in line with Government's Covid-19 parameters.
