COLES INGLEWOOD BACK LOCAL LITTLE ATHLETICS

Coles support of Athletics in Western Australia has reached a new height with the announcement last week of a unique partnership between Coles Inglewood and the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre.

In celebration of Coles Inglewood store’s revamp, Coles furthered its support of athletics by donating $5,000 to Inglewood Little Athletics Centre to help kids lead active and healthy lives.

“We’re delighted to announce that Coles Inglewood will be partnering with Inglewood Little Athletics Centre to help support their 410 little athletes this season. The donation will help them buy brand new javelins, discusses, shot puts, trolleys and marquees.” Said Inglewood Store Manager John Craven-Kelly.

“We wish the Inglewood Little Athletics Centre all the best for the season and we hope the $5,000 will help their athletes fulfil their sporting dreams and who knows, maybe unearth the next Sally Pearson.”

On hand to accept the generous donation alongside a raft of Little Athletes, Inglewood Little Athletics Centre’s Vice President George Pappas thanked Coles for their ongoing support.

“We can’t thank Coles enough for their continued support across the whole athletics community. This sort of support is invaluable for local community clubs like ours. It will help us grow and keep everyone excited about taking part in athletics.” Pappas said.

Coles donate more than 40,000 bananas to WA’s Little Athletics Centres each year, and through the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund, Coles customers have raised more than $140,000 for WA Little Athletics Centres from the sales of specially marked Coles chiller bags.

Coles recently announced an extension to its commitment to foster and fuel Australian Athletics into a fourth year. The partnership extension is a significant boost for the sport in a year plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic.
