HAMILTON AND PARDY READY TO ROCK IN KOBE

Published Fri 17 May 2024

Australian record holder Jackson Hamilton (UWA Athletics, Morgan Ward) and Paralympic medallist Ella Pardy (UWA Athletics, Danny Kevan) have touched down in Kobe, Japan for the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships.

After a breakout domestic season, Hamilton will look to improve on his seventh place in the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships. Hamilton has found a new gear over 2024, smashing his own Australian and Oceania record with a whopping throw of 68.23m in Perth earlier this year.

Building towards his Paralympic debut in Paris, Hamilton’s dominant form will be on show in the Men’s F13 Javelin event on Thursday 23 May at 5:25 pm AWST.

Ella Pardy returns to the Australian team for her fifth World Championships. Pardy produced an impressive fifth in the T38 100m Final at the last World Para Athletics Championships and will aim to put her best foot forward in Kobe.

With sights set on the Paris Paralympics, Pardy looks to step up her performance in the 100m and secure her spot in the Australian team. Pardy will step on the start line for the heats on Day Two at 9:42 am AWST, May 18 followed by the final on Day Three, May 19 at 6:05 pm AWST.

Hamilton and Pardy are not alone in Kobe, with Australia represented by a 20-strong team, focused on their final push for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The 2024 Para World Championships will be held from Friday 17 May to Saturday 25 May in Kobe, Japan.
