Financial assistance for families
Kid Sport
Kid Sport enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5 to 18 years to participate in community sport by offering them financial assistance of up to $300 per calendar year towards club fees.
Applications can be made below either online or by downloading the information and application form.

Brayshaw Aboriginal Regional Scholarship Program
Athletics West pleased to offer a scholarship for regional Aboriginal athletes thanks to the investment of local Masters Athlete Geoff Brayshaw.
The Brayshaw Aboriginal Regional Scholarship Program has been developed to provide $10,000 in funding per year to assist regional Aboriginal Athletes to participate in athletics.

Regional and Remote WA Communities
North West Travel Subsidy
The North West Travel Subsidy (NWTS) aims to encourage participation in identified sport and active recreation activities for athletes living in the regions of the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne and other remote locations within the Mid West and Goldfields regions.
Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy
The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme is an initiative run by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to support regional athletes who have progressed into the high-performance pathway of their chosen sport and are pursuing regional, state and national representation.
Eligible regional athletes can receive funding for out-of-pocket travel and accommodation expenses directly related to competitions and programs in accordance with the performance level categories and eligibility criteria outlined in the application guidelines.
Regional Athlete Scholarship Programs
The Regional Athlete Support Program is a statewide network supporting regional-based talented athletes, coaches and officials which allows athletes to continue their development and progress along the athlete pathway from their home environment. The Academy of Sport provides scholarship opportunities for national-level athletes to access extra support and funding. There are currently three funding opportunities available for WA athletes from these regions who have recently demonstrated high levels of achievement at a national level. Local Sporting Champions
The Local Sporting Champions is an initiative facilitated by Sport Australia and is a program that provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships hosted by Athletics Australia. Eligibility requirements are based on Athletics Australia being recognised as a National Sport organisation by Sport Australia. Please note, Little Athletics Australia does not have this status.
If successful, eligible individuals can use the grant on any associated cost to attend the nominated championships. For more information and to apply, please see the below information.
WAIS Athletics Program Scholarships
WAIS offers sport program scholarships in pole vault, while also supporting athletes in other events through individual athlete support scholarships by achieving the selection criteria. Scholarship athletes have access to the Performance Enhancement Team covering strength and conditioning and sport science and sports medicine services – physiology, psychology, biomechanics, sports nutrition and physiotherapy and support outside of sport through athlete wellbeing and engagement. Opportunities for individuals and sporting organisations to receive funding through Sport Australia.
Local Council Support
Many local councils support their local ratepayers through a sponsorship program for young people who have been selected into State and National sporting teams. Check out your local council if they have such a program for you. Search under search words of Grants, Travel Subsidy and/or Sponsorship.
Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF)
The SESF is a registered charity that supports young athletes aged 10 to 18 years old, whose financial circumstances would preclude them from otherwise participating at representative level for their state or Australia.

D'Arcy Slater Foundation Sports Scholarship
D'Arcy Slater Foundation and WAIS have partnered to offer sports scholarships for young West Australian athletes. The purpose to assist youth in the pursuit of sporting goals of excellence with the specific objective to provide a scholarship fund to offset costs associated with training for or competing at a significant sporting career milestone competition.
Para - Athletes and Participants with a Disability
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Little Athletics Australia have made information available on how the NDIS can help you to access Little Athletics.
The NDIS is a national scheme providing Australians who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services.
In individual can include sport and recreational activities within their NDIS plan, subject to individual circumstances, and funding categories are specific to the person's age and other criteria.
Local Para Champions
The Local Sporting Champions is an initiative facilitated by Sport Australia and is a program that provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability. Eligibility requirements are based on Athletics Australia being recognised as a National Sport organisation by Sport Australia.
Community Living and Participation Grants
Community Living and Participation Grants provide up to $10,000 for customised solutions that support people with disability to participate in family and community life. People with disability can apply for equipment, resources, activities and projects connected to their particular social and recreational goals. Community groups can apply for equipment, resources, training and activities that promote inclusion of people with disability.
Para-sport Equipment Fund
The Para-sport Equipment fund is designed to provide opportunities for Australians with disabilities to participate and compete in Para-sport by addressing some of the most significant challenges faced by Para-athletes and programs; the costs associated with obtaining Para-sport equipment, which in many cases must be customised for the participant. The Fund is administered by Paralympics Australia and promoted to all people with an impairment who are currently or interested in participating in a Para-sport and likely to be eligible for Paralympic sport.
ReboundWA Grants
Rebound WA provides financial assistance to members with a disability through two annual grants, which aim to encourage participation in social, recreation, and sporting activities.
Sport Access Foundation
Sport Access Foundation provides annual grants for children and young people with a disability. These grants can be used for any project that helps to build participation in sport and to ensure that no-one gets left on the sidelines.
